Tips to become a photographer for weddings

Your wedding album will be one of the most cherished memories of this great day you will have. But have you ever noticed how many of the "professional" photos are all the same from the wedding album to the wedding album? In fact, one thing that is interesting about wedding photographers is that on the day of the wedding, everything stops and it's all about him.

You know the practice. The ceremony is fun and joyful and full of joy, a few tears and a lot of meaning when the bride and groom kiss and become one family. Then it was all over and everyone came out to go to the reception to dance, have to cake and celebrate this union. But wait, the whole process has to be stopped while the photographer throws the wedding party for an hour or so to "recreate" the ceremony and create the perfect wedding photo.

Meanwhile, reception may be in progress and many of the guests the bride and groom or other people in the family who want to hug and share may have to leave because they can't wait for the chatty photographer.

Somehow total distraction on this day has been accepted as part of what the wedding day really is. And the worst part is that the photos, while fine and well-staged, look like a bunch of dolls being set up for a shop window.

The fun and excitement of the ceremony have ended. For decades to come everyone will say that they are beautiful and meaningful but if you take a closer look at the wedding party looks nervous, uncomfortable, bored, and like they wish they were somewhere else.

Maybe it's time to ditch that tradition and put some creativity into the way wedding photos and wedding photographers work in your wedding.

By finding a photographer who will put together some wedding photos that have some style, some creativity, and a little bit of creative flavor, you'll have a wedding album that's literally full of memories worth remembering.

To find such a photographer, you have to start early. You have to find a maverick photographer who "understands" that weddings are about people, not dresses and halls and that her photos should scream "this is a beautiful day and we celebrate this union."

You may have to look beyond the conventional "wedding photographer" lists in the phone book. An artistic photographer may be more appropriate. But be patient and find one that is as professional as any photographer in the yellow pages but can bring creativity and investment into getting to know this wedding for your important wedding photoshoot work.

The wedding photographer should be a part of the wedding party as well as the groomsman.

After all, if he wants to capture this partner's personality, then he has to get to know you. Spend some informal time with her and share pleasant memories of when you met, special times when you were dating, and of course very special places where important moments in your relationship happened.

Armed with such a creative individual in charge of your wedding photos, you will be looking forward to what he brings up. Many of the best shots will be made before the wedding, in those special places and she can photoshop them to match the wedding day moments.

Above all, the wedding photographer will understand that he is there to cater for this wedding and capture the special moments as they happen. Sure, you can "pose" for a picture from time to time, but the whole business of bringing the wedding day to a halt to take stiff shots of bored wedding party members going out with the trash.

The result is wedding photos with style, with life and lots of love in them to reflect the love exchanged in that vow and the love of family and friends as they enjoy this magical day with you.
